Felicity Neeson Album Launch: What We Carry

Join Melbourne singer-songwriter Felicity Neeson as she launches her debut album What We Carry with an afternoon show at the Wesley Anne, Northcote.

The album takes its name from the things we carry through life - memories, relationships, doubts and hopes - and how they shape us. Across a collection of folk-inspired songs, Felicity reflects on themes of home, self-discovery and connection, offering an honest snapshot of her journey as a songwriter.

About

Felicity Neeson is a Melbourne-based indie folk singer-songwriter with a love for heartfelt storytelling and evocative melodies. Her songs explore themes of life, love, loss and longing, blending acoustic folk with hints of Celtic and indie-pop. Alongside her music, Felicity is the director of Yellow Arrow, a leadership facilitation business, and also plays keyboard in the folk-rock band Run Rabbit Run. She is set to release her debut album What We Carry in November 2025.

“What We Carry” is the debut album from Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Felicity Neeson. With heartfelt lyrics and folky melodies, the album explores the emotional weight we all carry - the stories we tell ourselves, the hopes we cling to, the fears we bury, and the losses that shape us.

New Single out now!

Nobody Knows began as a response to imposter syndrome and a reflection on the idea that we all ‘fake it till we make it’. Felicity brought the fledgling song to producer James McGuffie, where they finished it together.

Musically, the track is very stripped back, with Felicity and James sharing dual lead vocals that take centre stage. Nobody Knows would fit perfectly on an indie film soundtrack, capturing a quiet, reflective mood.

Listen to The View

Written early in the album’s recording process, The View was born from Felicity’s reaction to watching another female artist perform on Instagram. Instead of feeling inspired, she was struck by insecurity and the pressure women often feel to compare themselves with one another. This song is a heartfelt reflection on breaking free from those conditioned patterns - a reminder that there is room for everyone, and we can celebrate each other’s successes.

Musically, the track draws from the quirky indie folk style of Regina Spektor, with percussive piano, rhythmic drums, and the warm supporting vocals of producer James McGuffie.
